46,000 Indians get US citizenship during 2016- 2nd largest group after Mexico.

The Times of India reported on Friday that close to 46,100 Indians obtained during 2016. In fact, according to the report, they were the second largest group behind Mexicans to obtain citizenship. Citing recent data released by the US Department of Homeland Security, the national daily reported that Indians made up six per cent of the total 753,000 individuals who received citizenship during the US financial year 2016 (October 1, 2015, to September 30, 2016).
